We're changing how young people access the workplace

All too often, a young person's prospects are dictated by their cultural capital stakes; this can include family background, their level of education and social assets. We're here to change that by:

Facilitating mentoring sessions between professionals & students
Important for skills development, mentoring can give young people access to insights and advice ahead of the work placement.

Supporting overstretched & underfunded schools
The social impact of schools struggling to find their students appropriate work experience means many students get left behind.

Giving young people equal access to opportunities
There are no barriers to entry to our initiatives; we want all students to feel empowered to take part.

Why Cultural Capital Matters to Businesses

Bridge the gap between your business and the future workforce: The current way that young people secure work experience means many students miss out on appropriate opportunities. As a result, many students slip under the radar. By participating in the Pathfinder Programme, you can open doors to untapped talent.

Promote social mobility in the UK: All levels of society benefit from equal access to opportunities; by participating in our work experience and mentoring initiatives, you equip students with unparalleled insights and access into the workplace that supports upward mobility.

Make a positive impact as a business: Being recognised for your business' social commitment uplifts your employer brand. Having an emphasis on learning and development opportunities within company culture is a powerful talent acquisition driver.

How Our Programmes Influence Student Cultural Capital

We equip students with social assets to catapult their careers forward: We believe every young person deserves equal opportunity to mentors, skills development and work experience, all of which make up a young person's cultural capital assets and promote social mobility.

Boosting confidence: Through feedback from students on our programmes, we have found that initially many young people simply feel that professional environments are not suited to them. Through gaining confidence in a professional environment with the help of their mentor, these preconceived ideas have been shattered.

Direct access to professionals: By working 1-2-1 with their mentor from one of our partner companies, we help equip students with the knowledge, confidence, and networks needed to make decisions about the next stages in their lives and early careers, which can be truly lifechanging.

Measuring the impact of our programmes against cultural capital markers
