Last month, ten 15-16 year old students from Leytonstone School had the chance to embark on a week-long work experience at LondonEnergy, offering them a glimpse into the professional world and a taste of the various career paths available.

Wiseup is extremely proud to announce that we had the honour of winning the People and Community Award at GMCC’s Excellence Awards last week. The event, held at Manchester’s Albert Hall brought together some of the region's finest businesses for a celebration of achievements. It is truly an honour to be recognised for our hard work and social impact, and we couldn’t have done this without all our wonderful business partners.

“The programme was very useful in helping me make connections and building an understanding for what type of job I’m interested in getting in the future” – Max – mentee Generali, a global leader in the insurance industry recently took part in The Pathfinder Programme, an initiative designed to help students from Harris Academy Westminster in their early careers.

Wiseup is proud to announce that last week we hosted eight industry talks in tandem with some fantastic Manchester businesses, aimed at inspiring the next generation of talent. This engaging event took place on the 26th of June at The Manchester College’s Openshaw Campus and involved eight different speakers delivering invaluable insights to over 100 T Level students. The event featured a diverse range of companies from Manchester, offering students a rare opportunity to glean real-world insights from leading industry professionals. The talks were delivered to T Level students from various fields, including digital, business, engineering, construction, automotive, applied science, and health and social care.

Last week marked a transformative experience for five bright minds from Harris Academy Westminster, as they embarked on the Pathfinder Programme, culminating in a work placement at Generali.

After six months in the making, and with nearly double the cohort, we are thrilled to announce that Intern 24’s work experience week has been a success! For this innovative programme, 40 aspiring 16-17 year old sixth form students from South Bank University Academy, Sedgehill Academy and St John’s Baptist School were paired with mentors from Kantar, Efficio, Blackbullion, IBM, Chain IQ and Hays back in March, ahead of the work experience week in May.
