Who Are Our Student Ambassadors?

Our ambassadors are students who’ve completed our programmes and want to keep the momentum going. They champion Wiseup by sharing their experiences, inspiring others, and helping ensure the impact of our Pathfinder Programmes continues long after they finish.

Why It Matters

Our Student Ambassadors are more than just alumni - they’re champions of social mobility. Having taken part in our initiatives themselves, they're in the invaluable position to give feedback to help us improve our programmes, inspire others with their journey, and helping us build a stronger, more connected community.

Ambassador Spotlight: Yusuf

Yusuf took part in Inverto's Pathfinder Programme in 2025

“Hi, I'm Yusuf, a BSc Economics, Statistics & Mathematics student at Queen Mary University of London. My experience with Wiseup began with my participation in Inverto's Pathfinder Programme, in which they assisted in running.

As a first year undergraduate student, I gained early exposure to the world of consultancy through a BCG subsidiary, being matched with a mentor and having the opportunity to visit the office and speak with senior members of the firm. I found the mentoring aspect to be the most valuable part of the experience. I had multiple 1-to-1 sessions with a Project Manager, helping me with many questions I had, not only in the consultancy industry, but also on a more personal level by addressing how I can advance my career in the short and long term.

The experience I gained with Wiseup was one that I know I'll look back on in the future as a vital moment in my early career, where I figured out how I'll progress my career further and where I built many vital skills that are applicable in any workspace."

Ambassador Spotlight: Zaynab

"Being part of the pathfinder programme has allowed me to gain access to hands on experience in a professional work environment. I enjoyed my work experience at With Intelligence Company.

The programme gave me a great insight into how technology and data are used to solve real business problems. Working in a team and presenting our ideas helped me build confidence and develop my analytical skills. It was an insightful experience that helped me better understand how innovation and data-driven thinking support modern businesses."

Ambassador Spotlight: Hacer

"During my time with Wiseup for my year 12 work experience, I gained skills such as teamwork and communication while developing my public speaking skills.

The programme consisted of multiple tasks and activities which aimed to develop our skills for future jobs. This is a great opportunity for students to gain experience and develop the essential skills needed for the future."

Boris

"I am Boris a Year 13 Sixth form student at St John the Baptist, studying Physics, Politics and Economics. I went to Kantar during my work experience week and couldn’t be happier with the experience and relationships I developed during that time.

What stands out to me the most is just how accommodating and friendly the kind people at Kantar were. I was quite anxious about entering a completely new environment but was helpfully guided through by my mentors, for which I couldn’t be more grateful.

After my work experience week concluded I kept in touch with my mentor, a client side professional who I had received a presentation from and the work experience group coordinator who managed the week with us. This has helped me in networking with professionals in the field allowing me to share my achievements and ask for advice.

The most important skill I developed during the programme was most likely my communication. By experiencing professional workplace presentations and then giving my own at the end of the week I have been given an expert insight in to how to improve my skills in this respect, employing them in the many times presentation and public speaking are necessary in my education."
