Pathfinder Programme

On Friday 7th November, the Wiseup team attended the SME National Business Awards in London –an inspiring event that brought together outstanding businesses from across the UK to celebrate the very best in the SME world. We are truly honoured to share that Wiseup not only took home the Gold Award for Best Enterprising Business, but was also named the Overall Winner of the evening! With over 120 finalists across 19 categories, and thousands of business submissions, to being recognised as the Overall Winner is a monumental achievement for our small, family-run business. It’s a moment that highlights how our mission, programmes, and impact continue to resonate with and inspire those who learn about our work.

We are delighted to announce that Wiseup Networks has taken home the GMCC Excellence Awards’ Skills & Talent Champion award! Last week’s award ceremony proved to be a pivotal moment for the team, as we were recognised for a brand new category and demonstrated our continued commitment to championing talent in Manchester.

Today marked an exciting milestone for the Queen Mary students and their mentors from Inverto in the Pathfinder Programme, as they stepped into Inverto’s London offices for their half day office experience. Today’s in-office session was carefully designed by Inverto to give the mentees a taster of the day in the life at a leading consultancy firm, with the session focusing on a number of core topics and activities, including mentoring sessions, CV writing and a Q+A panel.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between education and the world of work, and we’re able to achieve this through partnerships with inspiring, forward-thinking companies like With Intelligence. With Intelligence is a leading provider of investment intelligence, providing data and insights to the asset management industry. We’ve partnered together on the Pathfinder Programme so that local students can take part in mentoring and work experience, to empower them as they embark on their early careers.

We’re thrilled to celebrate the successful completion of a brilliant three-day work experience placement hosted by WSD for students from Harris Academy Bermondsey. This initiative marked a major milestone in our exciting partnership with WSD, and reflects our shared commitment to opening doors for young people from all backgrounds to explore careers in technology and finance.

On Friday 13th June, we were thrilled to see the Pathfinder Programme come to life in its very first in-person mentoring session, hosted at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). Developed in collaboration with Inverto, a BCG company, this programme is designed to support students from underrepresented backgrounds as they navigate their journey from education into the world of work — and Friday marked an important milestone in that mission. The energy in the room on Friday was palpable, and the mentors were impressed by the curiosity, drive, and thoughtfulness of the students they met.
