Last week marked the conclusion of an exciting and impactful work experience week as part of the Pathfinder Programme in partnership with DJH. Between 23–27 February, five talented students from Trafford and Stockport College – all with SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) spent a full week in DJH’s Altrincham office. Aimed at giving the students a thorough understanding of what to expect from one of the UK’s fastest growing accountancy firms, we’re thrilled to share that the week was a huge success, and the students gained a lot from it. Wiseup is thrilled to share that With Intelligence’s latest Pathfinder Programme is now live! Supporting 16 second and third year students from Queen Mary University of London as they enhance their employability skills, confidence and experience in a workplace setting, yesterday’s launch event was an exciting new chapter in our partnership together. Giving students structured mentoring and direct access to professionals working in industry aims to help ensure that talented young people have the opportunity to develop the knowledge, networks and confidence they need to succeed in their future careers.

A recent Telegraph article sharing an anonymous letter from a 2023 UCL law graduate titled “I was promised university would be a path to employment. This was a lie” cements an uncomfortable thought: securing good grades and a university degree are not the ticket to social mobility they once were.

On the 29th January, the procurement community will come together at The Admiralty for one of the most exciting dates in the calendar, for Procuary’s Networking with Purpose Awards event. Proud to be sponsoring the Social Value Award, this accolade will recognise the organisation/ individual creating meaningful social impact. Social value is one of the core pillars of Wiseup, and we are firm believers that it isn’t a “nice to have”, it’s central to building a fairer, more inclusive environment in the UK.

Yesterday marked an exciting milestone for Wiseup, as DJH officially launched their Pathfinder Programme, welcoming five students with SEND from Trafford and Stockport College to their Altrincham office. The programme launched with the first of four mentoring sessions, which will take place in addition to a week long work placement at DJH. This programme has been designed to give these students a thorough understanding of the workplace, whilst providing them with a support network and the confidence needed to grow and flourish.
