I have a bit of a mixed career so far, I studied Events management at university and went on to complete two and a half years as a wedding and events coordinator. I then fancied a change and tried field sales within the financial & medical industry. After being made redundant I took a job at American Express within telesales, this was not for me at all, I told myself I would give it a year and I left a year to day! After this I knew my skills and interest were best suited towards a coordination role and I decided I wanted to pursue project management, as it has better pay and is less personal than the wedding industry. I spent 6 months trying to get my foot in the door and had no luck. I was then offered a role as a catering manager which was a 6 month contract co-managing two businesses while the owners were on extended leave, the role was made permanent however then Covid hit. Through lockdown I have passed my PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner exams and I am now determined to pursue a career within project management.
