Hi, my name is Domingo and I'm graduating this year as User Experience Designer at the HAN University of Applied Sciences in Arnhem, the Netherlands. I would like to explore my opportunities on the market with a mentor that could guide me to get my first job as a UI/UX Designer. At the moment I have problems getting a proper job in the field and am working in a different field now to pay my bills. My question to my future mentor: What career plans do I need to develop in order to reach my goals as UI/UX designer with the combination of doing 3D artwork as well.
Phil was an amazing design business coach that could help me with my future career as a UI/UX designer. He helped me on various subjects like how to improve your CV, What recruiters are looking for in new talent, What to do about when you are stuck in a certain job and more. If you are considering to take Phil as your mentor, I would say go for it. He has a lot of knowledge and is able to explain everything in actionable bit-sized information that you can constantly can work on!
Beccy is an amazing mentor for ones who seek out new ways to develop their careers! I've learned a lot from her coaching sessions where we discussed several topics like how to connect with people online, which type of UX groups would be beneficial and why, online events to attend through eventbrite, looking at possible freelance work opportunities to build your portfolio, preparing for employment, interviewing, prepping portfolios, what to expect from tech tasks and so much more! I got concise & constructive feedback from her and was progressing quickly. At the end of the day Beccy gave me the courage and steps to prepare myself for the workfield after graduation. Highly recommended! Cheers, Domingo
