Right now I am semi retired, i was the Sales Director of an IT solutions business, I work with a Not for Profit Leisure Centre, a Marketing business as a Non-Executive Director. I focus on making sure businesses have processes in place to ensure they have the information they need when they need it.
Data is king and decisions can only be made with the right data behind it. So many businesses don't know there key numbers and metrics. This is what I focus on in my own business and my NED roles.
I have successfully managed and executed multiple management buys outs and buy-ins, managing not only the deal but the legal and financials during the negotiation.
My mentoring approach is and always has been to build your systems and process to ensure the right people have the right data at the right time. I will get to know your businesses and make suggestions and provide advice, no two businesses are ever the same so building an understanding of your business and challenges is key to a beneficial relationship.
I have had great success working with product experts who have become new businesses owners, knowing your product or service is great but it doesn't necessarily mean you know how to set up your business in the most successful structure.
