My business background was initially shaped from starting-up a UK based Direct Sales Publishing business in 1993, which highlighted many important lessons as a young entrepreneur. In my late 20s and early 30s I recruited, trained and managed hundred of graduates into sales and sales management roles within the educational publishing sector, before I discovered my passion of teaching and coaching others in their sales & leadership roles
Over the last 20 years I have co-founded a Training & Development Consultancy and Sales Development Consultancy, working with both privately owned businesses and global businesses across a range of market sectors, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Information Technology, Education, Consulting and a number of UK Public sector organisations too. I have a track record of improving sales performance through both training and coaching scientists, engineers, technologists, medics and non-sales people who are wanting to develop and grow their own teams
Working in workshop and coaching relationships with such a diversity of leaders has provided me with insights into numerous business models, market sectors and customer relationships. I have also been on the Board of two leading UK Independent Private Schools
My particular areas of specialism and interest are working with innovative and technical experts who are passionate about their products and service. I help them get clarity on how to create compelling propositions and actionable sales plans for their customers
My specialist skill is to politely probe, understand and explore the best approaches for each client. Often this does involve sharing examples of how other companies have succeeded and/or failed in routes to a market or tactics for growing sales in a difficult market
When I am not mentoring you can find me enjoying good food with my family and friends in the Cotswolds. I love spending time in the countryside , am a passionate sports enthusiast, cricket is my favourite sport but I love football, golf, skiing and sailing too!
