Add People celebrate a successful work experience week
This June, Wiseup Networks teamed up with Add People to deliver a powerful week of career insight and skill-building for five students from Wellington School as part of our Pathfinder Programme.
Based in Altrincham, Add People is a thriving digital marketing agency supporting thousands of small businesses across the UK and beyond. The work experience week gave students a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes of a fast-moving digital company — meeting experts, exploring different roles, and building their confidence along the way.
Learning by doing
The week’s programme was designed to give students a meaningful introduction to the digital marketing world, through interactive sessions, real-time feedback, and hands-on team projects.
Each day focused on a different area of the business, with opportunities to explore everything from SEO and E-commerce to sales psychology and lead generation.
Key highlights included:
The students initially started their weeks with varying levels of uncertainty on what to expect from the week. Thanks to a fantastic week organised by the team at Add People, the students left feeling inspired and with a greater understanding of the day to day roles in an office environment.
Confidence that builds each day
From day one, the students were encouraged to ask questions, step outside their comfort zone, and develop core employability skills — communication, teamwork, and professionalism.
Throughout the week, they worked on a digital marketing brief, practising how to research, build ideas, and present their thinking clearly. Their final presentations on Friday were a standout moment, showcasing how far they had come in just five days.
Some student feedback included:
"I've been given amazing advice that could be applied into the future and during the work experience."
"My mentor has given me ways to make myself stand out when applying for jobs and expanding my network."
" helped me to structure my presentation and it was nice to have someone there who I had already met."
Looking forward
The Add People placement is a brilliant example of how short, thoughtfully designed work experiences can have a lasting impact on young people’s confidence, understanding, and ambition.
This experience was only possible thanks to the Add People team, who welcomed the students with open arms and shared their time, energy, and expertise. Whether in structured workshops or informal chats, they played a crucial role in helping the students see what’s possible beyond the classroom.
And to the students: your curiosity, energy, and commitment made the week what it was. You showed up, took part, and gave it your all, we couldn’t be prouder!
