Celebrating Excellence: Our Silver Win at the London Chamber SME London Business Awards

In an era where socially responsible business practices are gaining momentum and businesses are increasingly being evaluated not just on their profit margins, but also on their positive impact on society, we are thrilled to announce that Wiseup has been honoured with the Silver Award in the Positive Impact category at the prestigious London Chamber SME London Business Awards. The awards ceremony, held at London's Park Plaza Riverbank, united more than 100 dynamic SMEs from a range of sectors and backgrounds for a night of celebration and recognition of achievements.

Having refocused our mission to prioritise mentoring and work experience programmes for young people in 2019, taking home the Silver Award serves as a testament to the tangible impact of our initiatives. From our early days as a coaching and mentoring platform for professionals, to our current position as an award-winning social enterprise, it is a proud moment to be recognised for the difference we have been able to make in the lives of young people around London.

Our work revolves around partnering with employers to provide mentoring and work experience opportunities for students; particularly students from lower socio-economic backgrounds, who don’t have the personal and family connections to gain an advantage in their careers.

This is achieved through Wiseup’s Pathfinder Programme, where members of staff in our partner companies are upskilled to become mentors for young people ahead of 5 mentoring sessions with local sixth form or college students. After session 2, the students visit the company on work experience – meaning the mentoring sessions wrap around a real-life workplace experience – before the mentoring resumes afterwards.
