Shining a Light on With Intelligence’s Empowering Work Experience

With Intelligence is a leading provider of investment intelligence, providing data and insights to the asset management industry. We’ve partnered together on the Pathfinder Programme so that local students can take part in mentoring and work experience, to empower them as they embark on their early careers.

This week, With Intelligence hosted a jam-packed work experience placement for 13 students from Harris Academy Bermondsey. What unfolded was a brilliant example of how businesses can make a tangible difference in the lives of young people by opening their doors and offering a real glimpse into the working world.

A range of staff members from multiple departments have volunteered their time and expertise over the past few months of mentoring sessions, to build a strong relationship with their mentee in the lead up to this pivotal moment.

With Intelligence’s Pathfinder Programme

The programme began with a focus on how the students could get the most out of their time at the office, encouraging self reflections on their goals and ambitions for the week.

With a core focus on preparing the students for their future careers, With Intelligence hosted a LinkedIn profile creation session and a CV building workshop. Students were also briefed on their end of programme presentations, a daunting task for many at the outset, but what proved to be a flying success for all by the time Thursday’s presentations rolled around.

As the week progressed, students gained insight into With Intelligence as a business by listening to department talks from the finance, events, sales, IT, and strategy teams.

During the work experience, the students were given ample opportunities to work on their employability skills, most notably communication, problem-solving and IT skills. One of the key moments for the students was the excel workshop, allowing the students to gain a better understanding of this important skill, and providing them with an opportunity to demonstrate their enhanced skill sets on all future job applications.

Throughout the programme, students had the opportunity to interact with professionals, ask questions about different career paths, and reflect on the ever-expanding knowledge of the workplace. By the end of the week, they had not only gained a clearer understanding of the workplace but had also grown in confidence, leaving with new skills, ideas, and inspiration for their futures.
