QMUL Mentees Visit Inverto’s Office For A Day In The Life Of A Consultant
Today marked an exciting milestone for the Queen Mary students and their mentors from Inverto in the Pathfinder Programme, as they stepped into Inverto’s London offices for their half‑day office experience.
Today’s in-office session was carefully designed by Inverto to give the mentees a taster of the day in the life at a leading consultancy firm, with the session focusing on a number of core topics and activities, including mentoring sessions, CV writing and a Q+A panel.
Now at the halfway mark in their structured six session mentoring journey, today’s session did not disappoint. Read on to learn how the mentors and mentees got on!
Inverto’s Pathfinder Programme
On Thursday 17th July, seven brilliant students from Queen Mary University London were welcomed into Inverto’s offices for the Pathfinder Programme, a mentoring and work experience initiative aimed at giving students a greater understanding of a future consultancy career.
Enhancing your typical shadowing work experience, Inverto curated an exciting morning that aimed to give the students the opportunity to ask questions and discover more about a consultant's typical day.
The day started off with CV writing and an overview of landing consultancy jobs. Looking into interviews, X and X, this was a masterclass that allowed students to truly understand how to stand out in a fast-paced and competitive world of consultancy.
Next on the agenda was the mentoring pairs' third mentoring sessions, focusing on the key takeaways from the programme so far.
The session culminated in a panel with expert talks from key staff members discussing all things consultancy.
What’s next?
With three mentoring sessions now behind them, covering career mapping, industry deep dives & the in‑office half‑day, the next sessions over the coming months will be all about consolidating the programme learnings and looking towards the future.
The QMUL students have shown remarkable enthusiasm and commitment to their future selves throughout this programme, and we’re confident that they will achieve their goals in whatever they decide to do post-university.
