NES Fircroft’s Pathfinder Programme

This year marks the second year of the programme, building on the strong foundations and success of our 2025 cohort made up from students from both Wellington School and Trafford and Stockport College Group (TSCG).

We’re delighted to be continuing the journey with five students from Trafford & Stockport College Group, supporting them as they take their next steps towards the world of work.

The programme will consist of a pre-work experience mentoring session at TSCG campus, ahead of two additional mentoring sessions due to take place during the work experience week.

The programme will finish up with optional fourth sessions, giving the mentoring pairs the opportunity to explore next steps, prepare for their final year, or give support on job applications, for example.

During their office visit, the NES Fircroft team will put on an itinerary designed to boost their confidence, increase key employability skills, and get a taste for a variety of job roles and departments.

Recapping last year’s programme

Feedback from the 2025 cohort demonstrates the vital importance of initiatives like this, with last year’s students seeing strong, measurable growth across every key area measured.

The biggest shift came in office understanding, more than doubling, alongside significant gains in job awareness and workplace etiquette. Confidence in engaging with professionals and asking for help also improved, while students left feeling better equipped to navigate job opportunities.

Overall, the programme clearly helped bridge the gap between education and the workplace, building both confidence and real-world readiness.

As with all our programmes, they are designed to measure the tangible impact on those taking part, so over the coming weeks, as the students begin their sessions and enter NES Fircroft’s offices, we’re confident we’ll have more fantastic findings to show for this year very soon!
